Topic: Committing to Your Spiritual Awakening, In Search of Soul Food

Scripture
“Sleeper, awake!  Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

                               -         Ephesians 5:14

Message
Sometimes there is an emptiness, something we long for but can’t name, a new way to be with God and to come home to our true selves.

People who have a deep experience of God:

-     Know the importance of nurturing an inner life instead of concentrating on the outer trappings. (They understand that the soul transcends the body)

-     Know that their lives are eternal and that their present choices affect their souls.

-     Know that life on earth is a transitory discovery experience and that their permanent home is the spiritual realm.

-     See life here as a gift from God and have a sense of purpose.

-     Know they are here to express their God-given gifts, evolve their souls toward love and to heal whatever blocks they have to loving and being one with God.

-     They know God as a Living Force.

-     They see adversity in their lives as an opportunity to evolve and express the fullness of God.

Prayer

Dear God,

My awareness of You is a celebration of Your Spirit within me and all around me.  Honoring You honors my life and all life, my sacredness and the sacredness of every one and everything You have created.  My commitment is to glorify You by being an example in all that I am and do.

Amen

Quote:

“I who have longed for God and for the truth of myself – am terrified of the invitation to head in that precise direction.”

- Joyce Rupp
