Wonderful Wednesdays

Our midweek worship on Wednesdays will look different for most of the summer. We will concentrate on some of the important stories of our faith. During July, we will concentrate on stories from the Old Testament, and August will focus on the New Testament.

I asked those gathered to think of a favorite story or verse from the Old Testament and to report back next week. The Old Testament begins with the story of creation, a collection of 39 books written over one thousand years by dozens of authors. The first five books are called the Books of Moses, also called the Torah. There are books of history, wisdom literature, and stories of the prophets. The end of the Old Testament is the book of Malachi, which spoke of a messenger to come.

The New Testament begins with the Gospel of Matthew and tells the story of Jesus Christ and how the word of God spread throughout the world.

It might be warm outside, so cool off in the sanctuary and listen to the stories of our faith.

See you at church!
