Monthly Wishing Well

Each month, our church selects a non-profit that we can contribute to. We collection donations supporting that cause and on some occasions there is a call to raise funds. See below for this months Wishing Well and how you can contribute.

Donations can be dropped off in the Gathering Space at church or check/cash donations mailed noting this cause to the office.

July Wishing Well

Tricia’s Troops Cancer Connection is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance, wellness programming, and supportive care to people in southeast Wisconsin who have been impacted by cancer. During the month of July, we would like to support Tricia’s Troops by collecting items for their Chemo Care & Radiation Relief Tote Bags and gift cards to help with daily living needs. Would you please consider donating to this organization?  

Items needed for Chemo Care & Radiation Relief Tote Bags are:

·       Activity Books (Crossword, Word Search, Sudoku etc) – To keep the mind engaged and occupied during long days at treatment

·       Biotene Dry Mouth Oral Rinse (8 oz. preferred) – Provides relief from mouth sores

·       Blankets (fleece preferred) – Patients often get cold during treatment

·       Candy (peppermint, ginger, root beer or lemon flavors) – For nausea/dry mouth

·       Coloring books and colored pencils – For enjoyment and stress relief

·       Hand sanitizer – To protect a compromised immune system

·       Journals  – For writing questions, medications, feelings etc.

·       Lotion that is fragrance-free (8 oz. preferred) – For dry skin

·       (ie. Aveeno, Eucerin, Lubriderm, Neutrogena, Cetaphil, Lindi, Jergens)

·       Socks – Soft, fuzzy socks or slippers for warmth and comfort

·       Thank you card sets – To thank those who have provided support

·       Water bottles (BPA-free) – To help patients stay hydrated (Camelbak, Contigo, Nalgene, Pogo etc.) 

Gift cards needed to help cancer fighters with their daily living needs are:

·       Gas Stations (Kwik Trip, Speedway, BP, etc.)

·       Grocery Stores (Pick ‘n Save, Piggly Wiggly, Aldi, Woodman’s, Sentry)

·       Walmart

·       Walgreens

·       Target 

August Wishing Well

Blessings in a Backpack is a non-profit organization that provides food for school children in Waukesha County (and the United States) over the  weekend when they do not have access to their school’s free or reduced-price meal programs. They mobilize communities, individuals, and resources so these children do not go hungry.

We would like to help this organization with their special food drive to cover the extra needs of children through the holidays. They are most in need of healthy snack items, but the full list is below. Please make sure that any food donated has an expiration date of 1/1/2026 or beyond.

 

Healthy Snack Items: (*Items most in need for the school year start)

· Raisins or craisin pouches/box

· 100% juice box (approximately 4-6oz)

· *Individual packaged crackers (i.e. Cheez Its, Goldfish Crackers, Animal Crackers, Pretzels, Popcorn)

· Fruit cups (approximately 4oz)

· *Applesauce pouches (approximately 4oz)

Breakfast Items:

· Individual cereal bowls/boxes (approximately 1oz)

· *Cereal bars (Nutrigrain, Belvita, General Mills, Kelloggs)

· *Granola bars (i.e. Nature Valley, Chewy, Made Good, Annie’s, Clif Z Bars for Kids, Lara Kids)

· Oat bars (i.e. Bobo’s)

· Fig bars (i.e. Fig Newtons, Nature’s Bakery)

Protein Items:

· Meat Sticks (i.e. Jack Links, Slim Jim, Vermont, Old Wisconsin approximately .5- 1oz package)

· Sunflower Seeds (approximately 1oz package)

· Chef Boyardee (or generic brand) ready to eat pasta with pop top lid (approximately 7oz container)

· Ready to eat soup with pop top lid (approximately 7oz container)

· Shelf stable yogurt pouches (i.e. GoGo Squeez)

· Tuna pouch ready to eat.

· Chicken salad pouch ready to eat.
