Revival!

Last Sunday in worship, I shared the story of the Asbury Outpouring, a revival that occurred in February 2023 at Asbury University. During that chapel service, students were invited to be both the objects and agents of God’s love, reflecting the truth that “we love because Christ first loved us.”

Today, the Lutheran Church celebrates the Ascension of Jesus Christ. As the risen Christ ascended into heaven, his followers were assured that the Spirit would empower them to be witnesses throughout the earth. The disciples were told not to gaze into the sky looking for Jesus, but rather to find his presence in the world by proclaiming the risen Christ and inviting others to the Easter feast.
