Let’s Fill the Baskets for Blessings in a Backpack!

On Sunday, August 24th, we invite students and teachers to bring their backpacks, bookbags, or briefcases to receive a special blessing and a tag to attach. If someone cannot attend church on that day, they can drop off their backpack, and we will extend a blessing to it and attach the tag for them.

At the same time, we will be blessing the donations for Blessings in a Backpack, a nonprofit organization that provides food for schoolchildren in Waukesha County and throughout the country when they do not have access to their school’s free or reduced-price meal programs. All donations collected by DMLC will go directly to Oconomowoc Area School District students.

It’s challenging for students to learn when they are hungry, as it is hard to concentrate on school and studying when their stomachs are growling and there is not enough food in the house.

Let’s fill the baskets in the Gathering Space with the requested items and assist our students with items to help them get through their weekends with enough to eat!
