Spring is Coming!

After moving to Wisconsin in 2001, my family was fortunate to visit the South during spring break. Over the years, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina became favorite destinations. After the snow and cold of a Wisconsin winter, it was always a gift to feel the warmth and see the sun for a few days.

While visiting Georgia this past weekend, I walked to a neighborhood coffee shop and noticed the first signs of spring: small purple flowers aptly named “Springstar.”

This trip reminded me that while spring may be further off for those of us in the Midwest, it is certainly on its way. In the meantime, we remain in the season of Lent—a time for us to prepare, much like the ground prepares to burst forth with new life.
