Thanksgiving Blessings
As we approach Thanksgiving Day, I would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank you" to all the people who volunteer at Dr. Martin Luther Church and at other places that depend on your time and talents. Churches especially rely on their congregations to accomplish the work of the ministry.
Occasionally, someone in Lake Country will learn that I am the pastor here and say, "Oh, the one with the great sayings on the sign? I love those messages!" This week's message is one we all can aspire to—being a person who practices gratitude no matter what the season.
The Apostle Paul, writing from prison in Rome to the church in Colossae (modern-day Turkey), encouraged them to have a thankful heart:
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Wishing you God’s blessings this Thanksgiving.
See you in church!!
