Thank You!!
Before Easter, we had the piano in the sanctuary tuned. As a result, we learned the piano was no longer serviceable. The piano was built in 1943, which means it was likely made with subpar materials due to the impact of World War II. Pianos built during wartime did not have the luxury of premium materials currently available in today's pianos. Our piano has served the congregation for a very long time and has only survived due to the attention and maintenance of the church. After 80+ years of playing, parts of the piano were no longer able to be replaced or reconditioned.
A little over a month ago, we put out a plea to raise funds for a new piano. We got off to an amazing start thanks to a sizable donation by one of our parishioners, and over the last four weeks, we have made steady progress and have been able to raise all the money needed for our beautiful new piano!
Music is an important part of worship at Dr. Martin Luther Church. We continue to plan for future concerts in our sanctuary, and our new piano will be a lovely complement for worship and the enjoyment of beautiful music.
See you in church!!
